When I left for Spain it was summer and now it is officially fall! Even though here in Texas the temperature is still reaching 90 degrees, we have transitioned into a new season. This is the time of year that I like to call, the Season of Gratefulness. I have been back from Spain for about a week now and after a week, I think my body is back to its time schedule. I’m not fighting sleep at work and I’m not overly exhausted when I get home (yay!). Every time I travel to another country and return to my own, I always feel a new sense of gratefulness. This time, upon my return, that feeling was much greater than usual.
I think it is bigger now because this trip has caused me to really appreciate the simple things that make my life so amazing. At the end of the day it is not the traveling, clothes, or good food that I get eat when on vacation that makes everything so amazing – its the fact that I get to return home to my loving family and friends!!
I find that watching other cultures – how they live and what they love to do is so intriguing. I learn a great deal on my travels and I feel that learning about others helps me learn more about myself. I’ve learned that everything revolves around love and nothing is important unless you have family and friends to share your travels, stories, recipes, and ideas! The best part of my adventures is not only leaving – but returning home as well 🙂
